Y Not Farms will run WD classes concurrent with EC Bronze Dressage classes as a miscellaneous classes and host EC Gold Dressage classes-only ones for the region. Gold riders and mounts can aptly serve as mentors. It is the hope that in the near future WD will evolve upto Prix St George and be a demo discipline at next WEG at Bromont.
Dressage, Western Dressage seeks refinement of the mount in balance, impulsion and cadence all necessary also to refine a reiner.
The dates for Y Not Farms one day shows are:
- June 13- EC Bronze and WD
- July 2, 3 – Jec Ballou clinic, likely best to alternate half days Dressage and WD with 5 people participants per session
- July 4-EC Gold and Bronze +WD, Jec intends to stay over to show on Sat WD
- Aug 1-EC Gold and Bronze + WD
- July 11, premiere NRHA Rening show
The WD classes are named Georgian Triangle Western Dressage shows (registered) and only membership required is OEF to participate.
I will have WD classes sanctioned by WSDAC should any riders seek WSDAC year ends but this requires WSDAC membership-see attachment WSDAC new…
My judges have senior EC dressage status along with WD judging approval.
Y Not Farms is open to hosting practices sessions Sat and Sun afternoons during April and May. Lessons are available with some of our mounts.
Note: Jec Ballou is a director of founding western dressage organization in USA, WDAA. She wrote Dressage 101 distributed by OEF and article What is Western Dressage and from California.
One of her assistants is young lady from Michigan who competed reining.
